A Casa dos Porcos (Portuguese Edition)

“A casa tinha olhos, e eles eram feitos de silêncio.”

The house feels like a character that watches everyone. It holds secrets that the family can't even admit to themselves.

Lázaro carries a weight that isn't his to bear. You see how easily a father's shadow can smother a son.

“Os porcos não esquecem o gosto do que é vivo.”

The pigs represent a hunger that never ends. They wait for the family to fail so they can take over.

Grief in this story isn't a feeling. It is a physical thing that rots under the floorboards.
