About the book

Brida, a young Irish woman, wants to learn magic. She consults a man who lives in a forest, a Magus who tells her that the secret is to be willing to trust. Later, she studies with a woman called Wicca, who teaches her the Tradition of the Sun and then the Tradition of the Moon. She wants a teacher, a spiritual practice, and a love that is real. Paulo Coelho interweaves these lessons with her relationship with a boyfriend, a physics student, and with a search for her soul mate.

For readers of his other novels, it offers more of the same questions about destiny and love, with an emphasis on feminine intuition. It is short enough to finish in a couple of evenings.
