About the book

A black-and-white circus appears in a field without announcement, open from dusk to dawn, and draws a crowd of devoted followers called rêveurs. It is really the arena of a contest between two young illusionists, Celia Bowen, whose father trained her with brutal methods, and Marco Alisdair, schooled by a shadowy patron. They do not know that only one can survive. Erin Morgenstern alternates between timelines from 1873 to 1902 and shows a clockwork world of tents, candles and secrets, where their rivalry turns into love.

For readers who like lyrical, visual fantasy and romance wrapped in mystery. It is a good book to get lost in on a rainy weekend.
