About the book

The Sinclairs are a privileged family with a private island, three houses and a rule against talking about unpleasant things. Cadence, the eldest grandchild, spends her summers there with her cousins Johnny and Mirren and with Gat, and together they are the Liars. After an accident during summer fifteen, Cadence is left with memory loss and migraines. When she returns to the island, she tries to put together what happened while relatives deflect her questions. The book is narrated in short, poetic fragments with fairy-tale interludes about three daughters and a king.

For those who enjoy a short mystery with an unreliable narrator and a family drama at its center. The last pages hit hard, so it works best if you know as little as possible beforehand.
