About the book

Two mice, Sniff and Scurry, and two little people, Hem and Haw, live in a maze and find their cheese at Cheese Station C. One day the cheese runs out. The mice act at once and head into the maze, while Hem and Haw stay, complaining, and wait for it to come back. Eventually Haw decides to go out and look, and writes what he learns on the walls. Spencer Johnson tells it as a parable about adapting to change at work and in life, with a short framing scene of old classmates discussing it.

A fast read for those facing change, such as a layoff, a new boss, or a move. It gives a simple image to keep in mind, though it does not go into practical detail.
