Aoife Torres, who goes by Yami, is a Mexican-American teenager who is forced to move to a Catholic school after a scandal involving her old public school. She is determined to keep her head down and hide the fact that she is a lesbian, but then she meets Bo, a girl in a rival school, and begins to fall for her. She also meets Amara, the school's most popular girl, and her peers, who are not what they seem. The story deals with faith, family and queer identity with humour.
Young adult readers who like contemporary stories on identity and acceptance, and those who have experienced religious schooling, will find it warm.
Practical and clear-cut; an easy read.
