Ben Payne, a surgeon, and Ashley Knox, a journalist, charter a small plane to reach their destinations after a storm cancels commercial flights. The pilot has a stroke and the plane crashes into a remote mountain range in the High Uintas. Stranded in the freezing wilderness, the two strangers must survive, decide whether to wait for rescue or search for help, and face their pasts. Ben deals with his troubled marriage, while Ashley recalls her own struggles, as the harsh setting forces them to rely on one another.
