About the book

Anna and her best friend Frankie, both fifteen, spend a summer with Frankie's family at a beach house in California. Frankie's older brother Matt, who was Anna's secret love, has died, and Anna is holding a secret about that. Frankie proposes a summer project of meeting twenty boys, and the two girls try to move on, with Frankie leaning into the beach scene and Anna learning how to grieve while hiding what she knows.

Aimed at teen readers, it is a story of first love, loss and friendship that deals honestly with sadness. Those who like emotional young adult novels set over one summer will find it a good match.
