Billy Lynn is a nineteen-year-old American soldier who has become a hero after a firefight in Iraq, which was caught on camera. His squad, Bravo, is sent home for a victory tour, and ends up at a Thanksgiving Day football game at Texas Stadium, where they will appear at the half-time show with Destiny's Child. Over the course of one day, Billy deals with fans, cheerleaders, a film producer who wants to buy their story and his family, while he recalls the battle and considers whether to return to Iraq.
A satirical, moving novel of patriotism and war, for readers who like contemporary fiction about America.
