About the book

Quentin Jacobsen has loved his neighbor Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar since childhood. One night in Orlando she climbs through his window and takes him on a series of elaborate acts of revenge against her ex-boyfriend and friends. The next morning she has disappeared, leaving a trail of clues, including Walt Whitman's poetry and a map. Quentin and his friends follow them on a road trip to Agloe, a fictional town that exists only because a mapmaker put it there, hoping to find her and finally see who she really is.

It's for readers who like teen mysteries with a thoughtful center. The book questions the way we idealize other people, and it has a clever metaphor in the "paper town" of the title.
