A sudden outbreak turns ordinary people into the Crossed, sadistic, violent killers marked by a rash across the face who torture and destroy for pleasure. Garth Ennis follows a small group of survivors on the road, trying to stay alive while the world collapses, and the story asks how far decent people will go to survive. Jacen Burrows draws the first volume.
This is an extremely graphic horror comic, aimed squarely at mature readers who like bleak post-apocalyptic stories and are comfortable with extreme violence and cruelty. Readers who prefer hopeful zombie stories should look elsewhere.
Practical, outward-looking, growth-minded, clear-cut and escapist; an easy read.
Best for readers like The Curious Generalist. Which reader are you?
