Johan Andersson, a former hitman who now goes by Anders, has just left prison and discovers that business is booming. He teams up with Per Persson, a pastor who has lost patience with his own congregation, and with Johanna Kjellander, a sharp-tongued former pastor. Together they run an odd business that offers to take care of problems, and their plan to build it around God's name leads to chaos. Jonas Jonasson writes in his usual dry, deadpan Swedish style.
Readers who enjoyed The Hundred-Year-Old Man will recognize the farce, the sudden turns of fortune, and a world of unlikely criminals. It is a light comic novel for an afternoon with a dark joke on every page.
Practical, clear-cut and escapist; an easy read.
Best for readers like The Escapist Adventurer. Which reader are you?
