Mandy is a teenager who happens to be the daughter of Starfire, the alien superhero from the Teen Titans. She has none of her mother's glowing brightness and instead is moody, goth, and tired of being compared to a parent whose happiness seems effortless. Over one school stretch, she navigates a strained friendship and her difficult, loving relationship with her mother. Mariko Tamaki writes it as a high-school story with a superhero background, with art by Yoshi Yoshitani.
It will suit teens and adults who like graphic novels about mother-daughter tension and DC characters seen from the side. You do not need to know Teen Titans comics beforehand.
Practical and clear-cut; an easy read.
