About the book

Mary Terrell is a former radical from the 1960s who has kept her past hidden while she lives as a mother in the suburbs. When she is hit by a surprise, her baby is kidnapped by Laura Shays, a woman who suffered a miscarriage and now believes that the child is hers. Laura is also a former radical, and both women are drawn into a violent confrontation as Mary and her husband try to recover the baby.

Robert McCammon builds a suspense novel that mixes the horror genre with a study of obsession. It suits readers who like fast-paced thrillers with a menacing antagonist, and those interested in the aftermath of 1960s radicalism.
