In September 2007 Randy Pausch, a Carnegie Mellon computer science professor, gave a last public talk, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams", after being told that his pancreatic cancer was terminal. The book, co-written with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeffrey Zaslow, expands on that lecture through short chapters about his dreams, such as floating in zero gravity, working with Disney and teaching, and about the people who helped him. He also writes to his three young children and to his wife Jai.
A gentle reminder to spend your time well, it is a short, humane read. It is suitable for graduates, parents and mentors alike.
Inward-looking, contemplative and clear-cut; an easy read.
Best for readers like The Escapist Adventurer. Which reader are you?
