About the book

Azriel is a Hebrew servant who is made a djinn, a spirit bound to serve a master, and he narrates his long history from ancient Babylon to the present. Taken from his home as a child during the Babylonian conquest of Jerusalem, he becomes a slave of one man after another, in Babylon and later in Rome, and he sees the fall of civilisations. In the modern day, he is freed, and he tells his tale to a writer, and seeks his purpose, with the help of a mortal who is also a Jew.

Fans of Anne Rice's gothic style and of historical and mythological fiction will find a long and lush story.
