About the book

Guy Delisle, a Canadian animator, spent several months in Shenzhen, China, supervising the production of an animated series at a local studio. In the graphic travelogue, he records his daily life in a hotel, the factory-like city, his attempts to buy things and find food, and the strange customs he encounters, mostly alone. His drawings are in a simple black-and-white style with dry humour.

Readers of graphic travel writing will find a funny and observant portrait of a city of migrant workers. It suits anyone who likes travel books that focus on the small details of being a foreigner.
