About the book

Lilith Isadora is a researcher dying from a blood-consuming wasting disease that plagues her town. To find a cure, she travels into the mountains to strike a bargain with Vale, a reclusive and ancient vampire. In exchange for access to his blood for her experiments, Lilith offers her own life as his future prey. As she conducts her scientific trials within his dark stronghold, the two develop a clinical then emotional dependency, testing whether human logic can survive a supernatural predator's instincts.

This novella is for readers of gothic fantasy who prefer quiet, character-centered plots over massive world-building. Fans of the Crowns of Nyaxia series read this to understand the origins of the plague and the internal politics of the vampire hierarchy. The reader walks away with an understanding of how scientific curiosity and sacrificial love interact under the pressure of mortality. It provides a self-contained romantic tragedy that connects back to a larger high-fantasy lore.
