About the book

Deep in a carpet, tiny people live in the tangled jungle of its fibers, in a world called the Carpet. The Munrung tribe, which includes Glurk, a young man, is threatened by an advancing force of mouldy, destructive creatures called the Fray, and by the empire of the Wahs. Glurk and his friends, including the wise Snarg, set out to try to save the carpet people. Terry Pratchett wrote it as his first novel at seventeen, and revised it later. It has his trademark humor, though in a more fantasy-adventure style.

Fans of Pratchett who want to see his early work, and young readers who like humorous fantasy, will find a quick, lighthearted adventure.
