The three Andreas sisters, daughters of a Shakespeare professor who speaks mostly in quotations, come home to their small Ohio college town because their mother has breast cancer. Rose, the eldest, is a mathematician afraid to leave home; Bean, short for Bianca, has lost her job and money in New York; Cordy, the youngest, has wandered for years and arrives pregnant. Eleanor Brown tells the story in the first person plural, as the three sisters, and each of them is hiding something. They have to figure out how to love each other when they are not sure they like each other.
Readers who enjoy novels about sisters, books and family secrets will find a witty, warm read. It is especially fun for those who recognise the Shakespeare references.
Inward-looking; an easy read.
