About the book

This is Mitch Albom's account of his weekly visits to Morrie Schwartz, a retired sociology professor from Brandeis who is dying of ALS. Albom, a busy sportswriter, had not seen Morrie since graduation and now sits at his bedside each Tuesday. They talk about what people value, what a good death might be, why cultural pressure makes us chase the wrong things, and how to love well. The text moves between the lessons and Albom's growing awareness of his own priorities.

Readers who enjoy memoir with a spiritual undertone will find it comforting. It is easy to finish in a weekend and the lessons are simple enough to remember.
