An asteroid called Ardor is going to hit Earth in a matter of weeks, and four Seattle teenagers react in different ways: Peter, a high-school athlete, Anita, a girl who has planned her escape from the town, Eliza, a popular girl who has always followed the rules, and Andy, a drifter who sells drugs and dreams of music. Tommy Wallach follows them as they decide what to do with the time left, including love, fear, risk and music. The narrative changes between their points of view, and it includes the chaos around them.
Young adult readers who like end-of-the-world stories with a focus on character will enjoy it. It asks what matters when there is little time, and it is mostly about the choices of the teenagers.
Clear-cut and escapist; an easy read.
