Attention, Shoppers (Everyday Terror)

“The supermarket is a liminal space.”

Grocery stores are already eerie. Blair makes you feel like someone is watching from behind the milk crates.

“Everyone here is so helpful. It’s terrifying.”

Ordinary people become terrifying when they follow a script. The forced politeness of the staff feels like a trap.

A simple trip for bread turns into a fight for survival. It makes me look twice at every fluorescent light that flickers.

“Follow the blue lines. Do not look at the floor.”

The rules in the store keep changing. You realize how much we rely on social norms just to stay safe.
