Billy Summers

“Dumb is a good mask.”

Billy pretends to be dim so people underestimate him. It shows how much power there is in staying quiet and letting others think they are smarter.

The way Billy cares for Alice after her trauma feels so steady and patient. It reminds me that helping someone often just means showing up and being safe.

“When you write, you can go back and fix things.”

Writing his own life story helps Billy make sense of his messy past. Putting words on paper can be the only way to finally own your history.

Living in a normal neighborhood makes a professional killer crave a boring life. Those small moments with neighbors over a grill are what he actually wants.
