George, a curious little monkey, wants a bicycle, and he has found a way to get one. He takes a job delivering newspapers, works hard, and buys a bike. But his adventures with the bike do not go as planned. He gets caught up in a circus act, rides into trouble, and ends up in an accident that makes a mess. In the end, thanks to his generous friend, the man with the yellow hat, and a happy discovery, George finds a way to set things right. H. A. Rey's illustrations show each scene in bright colors.
It suits young children who enjoy George's mischief, and parents who like classic picture books. It teaches a small lesson about responsibility without lecturing. Readers can expect a distinct voice and a clear sense of place from the first pages onward.
Practical, outward-looking, clear-cut and escapist; an easy read.
Best for readers like The Practical Optimizer. Which reader are you?
