Insights from Wayne the Lazy Bird Angel

“He was a bird. He was an angel. But mostly, he was tired.”

Wayne has these massive wings but stays on the ground. It made me think about how much energy we waste just trying to find a shortcut.

The other birds are constantly busy with their holy duties. Wayne just wants to find a nice patch of grass for a nap.

“Why fly when you can walk?”

Even an angel can feel like a total failure if he doesn't fit the mold. Watching Wayne struggle to fly felt very personal.

The way the clouds are described makes the sky look like a workplace. It turns something beautiful into just another job.
