About the book

Willow is a sixteen-year-old whose parents have died in a car accident for which she blames herself, and who now lives with her older brother Mark in a new town. She copes by cutting herself, hiding the scars and shutting out her new classmates. When Guy, a boy at her school, discovers her secret, he offers friendship, and the pair gradually form a relationship that gives Willow a reason to face her pain. The book is written in a quiet voice and deals with self-harm, guilt and recovery.

Teen readers who are dealing with similar issues, or who want to understand them, may find it helpful, though the subject is heavy.
