About the book

In the fourth installment of this graphic novel series, the toxic hierarchy between the beautiful Jenny, the manipulative Vicky, and their mistreated friend Karine faces a new disruption. The plot centers on a direct competition for social dominance when an attractive new neighbor moves in, sparking a ruthless rivalry between the two leads. While Jenny and Vicky sabotage each other to secure male attention and status, Karine begins to find small ways to assert her own independence. The story uses dark humor to depict the vanity, betrayal, and shallow priorities that define the trio’s high school interactions.

Teenagers and fans of satirical comics read this book for its biting portrayal of adolescent social structures. The narrative appeals to those interested in the friction between insecurity and popularity. Readers walk away with a cynical perspective on the costs of maintaining a perfect reputation and the realization that the most admired characters are often the most miserable. It provides a blunt observation of how self-centeredness impacts friendship and the difficulty of breaking free from established group roles during high school.

Insights from Duel de belles (Les nombrils #4)
