About the book

Regan's brother Liam is a teenager who has known since childhood that he is really a girl named Luna, and he dresses as Luna only at night in his bedroom. As Liam prepares to come out publicly and start living as Luna, Regan acts as his confidante and protector, while also trying to keep up with her own life and her longing for a normal one. The story is told in Regan's voice and looks at the strain on the siblings and their parents.

One of the first young adult novels with a transgender character at its center, it suits readers who want to understand the family side of transition. It is a straightforward, heartfelt book for teenagers and for adults who care about them.
