El Mitón: Un Cuento Ucraniano

About the book

On a freezing winter day in Ukraine, a boy named Nicki drops one of his white mittens in the snow, and it begins to be used as a shelter by animals. First a mole squeezes in, and then a rabbit, a hedgehog, an owl, a badger, a fox, and a bear, each one asking whether there is room, and each one pushing the mitten further. Jan Brett's picture book is built on repetition and has detailed, framed illustrations with borders that show what is coming next. The result is a cumulative tale with a funny ending involving a tiny cricket.

It suits young children and their parents, especially those who like folktale picture books with lavish art.
