About the book

Curious George is a small monkey who lives in the African jungle until the Man in the Yellow Hat takes him to the city. George cannot resist trying things out, and each experiment leads to some trouble: a phone call that brings the fire department, a stay in prison after a false alarm, a balloon ride that carries him over rooftops. Each time, the Man in the Yellow Hat finds him, and George ends up with a reward. H.A. and Margret Rey's picture book has bright illustrations, short sentences, and a sense of cheerful mischief.

It is a good read-aloud for young children, especially those who are curious themselves. Parents will appreciate its simple, gentle humor.
