Iris, Vivi, and Grey Hollow are three sisters who disappeared from a London street as children, only to reappear a month later with no memory, black eyes, and white hair. Ten years after their return, the eldest sister, Grey, vanishes again under suspicious circumstances, leaving behind clues that suggest a link to a decaying, supernatural realm. Iris must track her sister through urban ruins and dark forests while confronting the necrotizing scent of carrion and the realization that she and her siblings are not entirely human.
Fantasy readers who enjoy folk horror and atmospheric mysteries will find a story centered on changeling mythology and visceral body horror. It appeals to those looking for a narrative where the bond between sisters is tested by predatory threats and ancestral secrets. The reader finishes the book with a dark understanding of how grief and magic distort the natural world, leaving behind a vivid picture of a reality where the line between life and rot is blurred.
Inward-looking, contemplative and open-ended; a moderate read.

Insights from Surorile Hollow
