Tu esti mamica mea?

About the book

A baby bird hatches while his mother is away looking for food. Not knowing what she looks like, he sets off to find her, asking a kitten, a hen, a dog and a cow whether each one is his mother. Then he meets machines, including a big old car and a boat, which he also asks. At last a huge crane lifts him back to his nest, just in time for his mother to return. P.D. Eastman wrote it in simple repeated phrases for beginning readers, with the question "Are you my mother?" repeating throughout.

Parents and teachers use it with early readers because the language is short and predictable and the pictures carry the story. It is a funny, reassuring story for small children about belonging and reunion, and a good first book to read aloud many times.
